More about The Angel of the City

I would have called this eager little Marino Marini statue Happy To See You!
The original plaster model had only a bump where the horseman's penis should be. The hard-on was added to the sculpture at Peggy Guggenheim's request. It was cast separately so it could be unscrewed when dignitaries from the church came to visit. In her autobiography, Peggy wrote that she kept the penis in a drawer on such occasions. Just one penis that is, as the horse appears to be a girl.
The J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles has a copy as well, though that one is called "Angel of the Citadel." Maybe the horseman took offense to being called "little."
Love this model. When it comes to gender, it is hard to tell whether the horse is a man or a woman. What we all know is that the 1212 angel number twin flame does not appear by chance.
