Detail of Sandro Botticelli’s The Birth of Venus at the Uffizi Gallery.
Who says Republicans don’t support the arts? In recent years, the conservative party has taken a bit of heat from art lovers for proposals to cut funding. Now, we at Sartle admit that we’ve been known to lean a little to the left in the political arena…but in the spirit of fair play, we’d like to show you what Donald Trump’s mission to revive interest in the arts might look like. It’s the least we could do.
Behold! Trump’s plan to make the National Endowment for the Arts great again:
Mona Lisa Trump by Leonardo da Vinci at the Louvre Museum
Donald Eugenia Martinez Vallejo, Nude by Juan Carreno de Miranda, at the Prado National Museum.
David….er…Donald, by Michelangelo at Academy of Fine Arts of Florence
Young Trump Boy with Whip, at the Honolulu Museum of Art
Ivanka by Edouard Manet at the d’Orsay Museum
L’origine du Trump Towers by Gustave Courbet at the d’Orsay Museum
American Somethin’ by Grant Wood at Art Institute of Chicago
Self-Portrait with Comb-over by Vincent van Gogh, at the d’Orsay Museum
Der Fuhrer by Heinrich Knirr, at the Imperial War Museum . The resemblance is striking…
Donald of Willendorf at the Museum of Natural History Vienna.
Sorry, we’re not sorry.
