Thomas Alva Edison, the American inventor most commonly known as the inventor of the light bulb, even though he didn't.

He's a name most grade school kids know (God, at least we hope they still teach kids education and history in school). As you may or may not know, Edison DIDN'T invent the lightbulb. He discovered a better filament and got massively wealthy from it. But he also improved research by using teams and ideas of mass production. He is also credited with creating devices like the phonograph as well as an early motion picture camera. He has 1093 patents in America under his name and countless others in Europe.

Luckily for Edison, instead of the regular, boring ol' seated picture, Anderson puts him in the environment he know best - patent writing, invention making, early tech geek, hardworking self. It makes the composition more interesting and reminds all those school kids that we didn't always have smartphones and hoverboards. I will have strong words for inventors if hoverboards are not in my near future. 

Someone looks a little tired and frustrated. Maybe he was afraid that his archenemy, Nikola Tesla, was inventing something better or perhaps winning Epic Rap Battles. All I know is that there isn't a massive car company named after Edison run by Elon Musk, the real life Iron Man/Tony Stark.
